Heavily inspired by Viv’s Emily in Paris post that I thoroughly enjoyed. A reimagining of the Gilmore and co’s substack. It wasn’t until March this year when I finally started watching Gilmore girls. I would have loved watching this in my late teens and I have no clue how it’s passed me by for so long.
I’ve not actually ever watched SATC so maybe that’s next on my tv binge?
This platform was essentially built for Rory to share all of her thoughts and reviews on classic literature. She posts deep dive posts to showcase her journalistic talent. She would have read THE post about the bell jar and frustratedly wondered whether she was performative-ly reading. Her drafts would be full of personal essays mainly about her terrible taste in men
Lane’s substack would be a constant reflection on motherhood, marriage and complex family relationships. She would pair each personal essay with a record. For each post about her own children she would pair with her own song or poem
Paris’s Substack would be complex intellectual posts with little self awareness. It would read like a job application but you couldn’t help to be in awe of her achievements and drive. She would nail the algorithm and have posts scheduled for a full year.
Lorelai would be the first to become Substack famous. Her posts would be about movies and the evolution of women in theatre. She would share but not over share (it’s a fine line) about the difficulties of being a young solo parent. Whilst being mindful of her privilege. She would constantly save all the posts about food to share with Luke.
Richard would be Rory’s first paid subscriber
Emily would comment on peoples notes and posts but not ever actually write something herself.
Jessie would be posting actual think pieces and we would all be surprised how self aware he is. Each season we would all be intrigued to see what books he read and how he rated them
Luke would have a welcome to my Substack post from 3 years ago with no other follow up posts.
Michele’s Substack would be exclusively in French. A mixture of interiors and fashion talking about the juxtaposition of luxury and small town America.
Sookie would post hourly on notes a play by play of all the food she is making, eating and thinking about. There would be an abundance of recipes as well as links to recommended restaurants. She would have a weekly post of foods with unusual pairings
Logan’s first Substack subscriber would be Rory. She reads every post of his and wonders why he hasn’t subscribed back to her. He writes about art as an escapism constantly checking if Rory has liked it yet.
Emily buys an iPad specifically to read her subscribed substacks 😂
Dean subscribes only to Rory's Substack and prints each one out to read and then put on the fridge 😂
